Kevin's Swim

To swim into the rip current is the only choice.
If a man is not about to drown, than the man is not about to live.
The push is the only way to find the give.
The breath is had when the surface is broke.
The kiss in the shadow?
OK for a moment.
The embrace will save you.
The breath, the grasp, the sigh---that is all.

This is a steady hand to me on a cold and lonely day. How could you have known that I needed to read this reflection in the water? keep going. reaching here, having gathered flowers-and i present them-oh! to whom? to you.

I randomly stumbled across this tonight. It is within one week to the day eight years ago that we met somewhere in Brooklyn. The details are but a cloud in the sky, but the sense of place - indelible. Will settle down and read some of your newest work!

Sincerely,

The Swimmer
